1949 Serial Number Breaking Point This is Willys Overland Motors Inc. Sales Bulletin number 48-38 dated Oct. 30, 1948. It lists the starting serial numbers for the 1949 model year vehicles.
49 to 50 model year change date This is Dealer Bulletin no. 49-2 from Goodman Motor Company, Willys-Overland Distributor, dated Sept. 28, 1949. It states that the model year will change from 1949 to 1950 on Nov. 1st and unsold 1949 vehicles can have 1950 serial number plates furnished by Willys-Overland.
1950 new serial plate exclusions This is a letter to all dealers and distributors explaining that Willys-Overland Motors, Inc. cannot furnish 1950 serial number plates for 1949 models that have been discontinued or superseded (663, VJ-2, CJ-2A). It is dated Oct. 13, 1949.
